Kidderminster Cub Scouts Adventure Day |
Saturday 22nd
May 2004 -
saw 98 Cub
Scouts and leaders from seven packs enjoy a varied and exciting day out. |
First stop--
Cosford Air Force Museum. |
Three hangers and an outside display received the
Kidderminster District treatment; |
our packed lunches were eaten; the shop cleared and.....
...off we went to our next venue, Telford. |
Arrival saw Coach
1
invade the "Super Bowl", Coach 2
the fantastic play area. Both experiences proved to be just right, the Cub
Scouts having a great time whatever they were doing; even the sunny warm
weather added to the enjoyment. |
3.00pm and off we
walked to the UCI Cinema. I'm not sure if the locals have survived yet as
40
Cub Scouts sang as they walked over the road and along the underpasses and!.... |
The party joined together in the foyer of the Cinema. The
looks on the faces of those who were coming to have a quiet afternoon at the
Cinema were a sight to see as they joined the Kidderminster contingent.
One side of the Cinema was put aside for our Group. Was this for our
enjoyment or control of the masses? We will never know. Scooby Do
2 kept every ones attention, except those wanting the loo
of course!! |
Walking back to the "Super Bowl" gave every one the
opportunity to discuss
the merits of the film, best part etc. |
◄ before - after ► |
| It was now time for tea. Coach
2
were fed sat on the alleys, Coach
1
in the
cafe area. 98
Chicken nuggets, chips and drinks of Coke later and........ |
....the bowling / invasion of the play area continued. |
7.30pm and Coach 2 joined Coach 1 for a final super slide, climb the
Spiders web, walk the tight rope etc. in the Town Park. Toilets proved a
challenge as all the local ones had been locked, this was overcome thanks to
the "Super Bowl". |
Coaches were refilled and a contentedly happy group were
brought back to the John Stretton Hall in time to be given back to their
parents.
Whew !!!!!
The day was a huge success; the Cub Scouts having a great day out. |
Many things made it so. The attitude and
good behaviour of the Cub Scouts, the friendship and support of all the
leaders, the welcome at all our different venues, the
weather and the work put in by the organising team.
It just shows what can be achieved when we all work together and support
each other.
